a burst of activity…
so my wife has told me that i’ve been remiss on posting stuff.
that’s probably true. in fact, i know it is. so i’m here to atone.

bet you guys didn’t know i was actually an employee at vail, co at one time, did you? i have a very dark and twisted past that i keep hidden away from the internets. my court-appointed therapist suggested that i work on revealing these secrets as part of my recovery. plus it’s part of the terms of my parole.
you also didn’t know how fucking cute i was when i was 18… but now you do.

i have to admit, i love the dyson. i love the fact that there is ALWAYS a buttload of debris in the hopper after i vacuum. i wish the dyson were made out of titanium so that it would last forever.
this picture has been photoshopped, obviously. in particular a filter called lucisart was applied, which does some interesting stuff with local contrast enhancement. gives it a “painted” feel. it’s not good on all pictures, but some it really works well on. wide angle shots of crissy doing something silly are particularly good for it:

see?

now you also know how fucking cute i was when i was a few months old. gerber baby!

this is a tonemapped HDR taken at fort adams state park in newport, ri. it consists of three photos with varying exposure combined into a single, higher bit-depth image (the HDR part), then the various luminosities are remapped so that they can be rendered on the screen (the tonemapping part). that’s how i got the bridge/lawn exposed properly while still preserving detail in the much darker foreground.
