   This is what I love about your pictures Ken, they show us the most obvious things from a unique perspective– no. 1, 4, 6 and 9 exemplify just that. Do you simply shoot in monochrome mode or go color first and then convert the gray-scales later on the comp?

   aditya, since about a year ago i shoot in raw mode 100% of the time. then i’ll sort of make a judgment call once i’ve uploaded the pics as to whether or not the color adds anything. if not, then it gets converted to B+W.

   that said, there are certain pics that i’ve taken that i knew even before i hit the shutter would be B+W. sometimes if i know that going in, i’ll compose the shot a little bit differently.
