you may or may not have known.
since we moved last year i haven’t been playing with my band quite as much as i’d like. things just pull everyone in different directions, you know? in any event, i went back through some archived stuff and pulled out a couple of old recordings that i still thought sounded halfway decent. then i thought, “hey, let’s stream them from wordpress, because wordpress is so awesome there MUST be a good plugin for this,” and so i went looking for one.
i don’t know how good it is, but i’mmagonna try it anyway. let’s see if it works at all. if you see a little player thing between the two dashed lines, it’s working. you do need javascript turned on.
if you DON’T see anything, leave me a comment and tell me your setup (browser type and version).

this was a rehearsal / practice space in south providence, ri. there used to be a pizza joint upstairs run by some shady dudes. they did have good pizza, or maybe i was just hungry every time i had some. i shared the studio with my drummer and best friend, bren:

that’s not his hair, although it could have been if he had grown it out.
if you look closely, you’ll see that the first one is a double exposure, on film. no photoshop tricks here! for one shot i had the guitar laying against the amp cabinets, and the cover off the drum set. for the second shot, on the same piece of film, i put the cover on and i sat down with the guitar on the stool. the camera remained steady, maybe on a tripod (it WAS 12 years ago), so nothing else in the picture moved between the two snaps.
i had some really good times in that studio… became better friends with myself with the help of some psilocybin… played a lot of notes, drank a lot of beers, met some interesting folks, smoked a lot of cigarettes and joints, took some B&W nude pics of my future wife by the light of a candle — you know, all the good stuff you do in your early 20s. i wore my contacts all the time, had long hair and played heavy music on stage in clubs. life was rockin’!
part of me misses it terribly, and part of me is glad to have it in the past.
