   I love how the windows frame the landscapes. There’s something wistful about those photos. I don’t know whether they make me feel desperate to take a long, slow trip somewhere or if they give me the feeling of going home.

   The snow was nice. We almost had her convinced she was on the Polar Express.

   The last picture is my favorite.

   Did you use a wide-angle lens for most of these? The one inside the train in particular is outstanding.

   thanks for the comment, dingo. when’s the last time you were home? i see what you mean about pictures shot through windows, and i agree.

   arjew, 99% of my shots of the ny trip were done with an ultra-wide angle lens, 11mm (which works out to be ~17.5mm equivalent field of view on a full 35mm frame camera).

   And don’t forget that she was watching The Polar Express for some of the trip too! It was snowing and the whole thing was perfect.
