Well, as you can see, lots of stuff has changed.

I have decided to migrate towards a wordpress-based website for ease of management. You’ll likely see a lot of alterations to the style/theme of the site as I settle on one and customize it to my liking.

There WILL be growing pains, I am sure, but it’s time for a change, damnit!

Though lots of stuff is in flux, there is very much that remains the same… my likes are still guitars and tube guitar amps, tube hi-fi amplifiers, my Subaru WRX, my wife Kristen and my daughter Charlotte. Slowly but surely you’ll see more posts and articles on those things, plus the other varied things that take my time.

Thanks for your patience during the upgrade. Hell I don’t completely know where the site is going, long term–photoblog, or whatever–so check back often and send me a nasty email if you hate it.

    Dear Ken,

Hello, I hope this message finds you well. My name is John and I am about to install a Subaru engine in my Volkswagen T3 Syncro. This is the donor Subaru car http://www.type-ra.com/impreza-my98-subaru-impreza-wrx-type-r-sti-version-specs/

and the engineer requires the wiring diagram in order to make the modification. I am a bit confused regarding the correct file. Can you please indicate which is the correct file?

    Thank you in advance,

    Best regards,
    John

I’ve got a quick question, someone I know referred me to your page.
I’m doing an auto to manual swap in my 05 Subaru Impreza… Almost complete with it except I have an auto wiring harness &I know of the two wires that need to be spliced or whatever for the neutral safety… But my question is do you have a diagram or know what two wires it is? Any help would be great need to have this car done ASAP!

Hi there, first thank you for very interesting site.I read a lot of comments, but could not find anything related to Subaru legacy,2003 model,2,0l engine. For the engine code,I am not sure if it is EJ201 or 207.These cars are not that common here in Botswana, that”s why I must look for manual elsewhere.I have Autodata from UK and Tolerance Data from Denmark but in both of it there is nothing about engine management system, only trouble codes.I have in engine system 3 codes,P0500 veh.speed sensor,P0102 massair flow circuit low and P0113 intake air temp sensor circuit malfunction(high input). In the gearbox system is also 3,P0715 torque conv turbine speed signal circuit malfunction,P1709 throtle position sensor circuit high input, and P1718 AT CAN Comunication circuit.Any sugestions will be highly
apreciated.Especialy where to look or to buy service manual.
    Best regards

Hi Ken, thank you for your work. I’ve been learning automotive electric for a few days now; the wipers and washer motor run continually on my 2000 Impreza L. I cut the wire to the washer pump and rigged a switch into the fuse box so I can still use the wipers. Now I’m going through the procedures in the service manuals to test the switch and the motor, but neither seem to yield solid results… I’m guessing it’s me. I have one specific question for you: on page 12 of 6-2 in the mega manual it shows a round connection on the wiper motor, however my car’s is rectangular. I have used the wiring diagram to cross reference the color of wire I have on the car to the numbers in the diagram, and used those numbers for the instructions in 6-2…. But I’m getting nothing like it says. If I mess around I can get the wipers to move though and so I’m going out to try and make some sense of this now. I would have emailed but could not find your address. Thanks

    Hi Ken,

Sorry I am not a contact of yours. I enjoyed reading the article about tube amplifiers. Would you mind please forwarding me the plans for the 300B single ended point to point amp?

    Kind regards,

I apologize if this is the incorrect place to ask this, but i have been using the service manuals from this site for my 2003 WRX (i had downloaded all the sections) and now when I click on them i get 404 not found. I had them on an ipad in ibooks which is now lost, and I dont know where else to get them back! If there is anything you could do it would be much appreciated. Sorry again if this is the wrong place, I couldnt find any other forums on the site or a way to contact you.

    Hi,

Would you be able to send a copy of the “Less is More” amp schematic, the 2A3 version please? This would be a great help, as I am having trouble finding schematics for simpler designs. I am a beginner and am looking to start small. Thanks very much, and great site.

Hi Ken, Thanks for all of your work.

I have a 1999/2000 impreza (not WRX) it has a hidden immobilizer problem that we cannot find. Do you have a electrical manual for and Australian Model of my car?? I have a page of the electrical system for the immobilizer for the car and it strangely says that one of the wires from the immobilizer system goes to the ‘Spot light, room light, luggage room system’. This particular wire just seem to connect with the grounded wires in the internal fuse box, but I am not sure it should. All other wires have good continuity to the ECU and respective fuses. I have tried changing the complete system: key, antenna, immobilizer control box and ecu, with no luck! This last wire is my only hope!

But I cannot find the complete manual anywhere…

I have checked all of the manuals that you have posted for imprezas, but they are not the right system. Do you happen to have a link to one. If so would you mind emailing me the link? Thanks in advance for any help.
    Kind regards,
    Nathan
