Blog identity crisis
so i’m sitting here wondering what the fuck my blog is going to be like.
i know that images are going to be a key point. the question remains how to present them?
the big issue with a photoblog for me is that they sort of revolve around a “picture a day” type of paradigm. the pictures tell your story, with maybe a few words here and there to fill in the blanks.
you can ALSO include “normal” posts made up entirely of words if you wish.
one thing a photoblog is NOT is a gallery. it’s not meant to be, and none of the software out there seems to allow for a grouping of subject matter in a higher level overview.
i thought about it a bit more and i suppose one could create categories or tags to effectively create a “gallery” of similar pics. it won’t be a nice matrix of thumbnails, but rather a list of posts, each of which has a picture as a central focus. the pisser is that a lot of scrolling would have to be done to review a lot of pics.
then the inevitable question arises of whether or not i’ll be able to go back and include many of my PAST pictures. will i have the time and motivation? i would hate to leave them all behind.
i COULD do both.. use a gallery type area to collect past pics and also a photoblog area for the new material. splitting my photo archive areas just rubs me the wrong way though!!!
