Hi Ken,

Thank you for the manuals and this is a great website. I have a 04 wrx wagon but was manufactured in may, 2003. I noticed the axles are like the 02, 03s instead of the ones manufactured after January 04, but the car has a 04, 05 body parts. Should I use 02’s manual for the power train and 04 manual for the body? Thanks a lot.

no worries bob. i think you may find the subaru a fairly decent platform to work on… things are reasonably laid out and generally easy to access, and parts aren’t too expensive (at least not if you cross-reference).

what helps is that most of the entire platform lineup is assembled like legos and a LOT of things just bolt right up. last month i replaced a wheel bearing using a hub/spindle/knuckle from a junkyard forester. two years ago i used a saab 9-2x for the same repair on the other side!

by the way–as SOON as you start to suspect wheel bearings, jack up that corner and check it out. if you catch it early you can avoid having to buy a new hub. if you wait too long they get chewed up quickly and they’re $400 from the dealer. junkers around here sell the assembly for ~$50, but you’re taking a gamble of course. i usually get a junked knuckle, bring it to a buddy who’ll press out and replace the bearings, then swap it on my car in my drive at my relative leisure. a lot easier than trying to get it all done in one shot!

Body ten on Subaru Impreza 2001 doesn’t work and comes up with error 404. I am looking for the section on how to adjust the drivers side window as mine has dropped forward and the rear goes outside the trim…help this is the lake district!! Cheers Andy

can I use this document to swap a JDM STI V7 Engine + ECU (AF481-7545) into my EDM WRX V8 Wagon? Do the pinouts especially fit the JDM ECU?

Putting a complete front rear k frame and drive train from a 2000 impreza 2.2 into a cf 100 wing tip fuel tank,lakester style roadster .Very complicated deleating stuff from the harness, wipers airbags heater door locks and so on . Have any contacts for coloured diagrams and more realistic plug pictures Ken?
